No. The first thing you need to do is make sure your PC is safe from intruders and viruses and spy ware. You'll need a firewall and anti virus program. If you don't have either, switch windows own firewall on in the meantime - this will help to protect your PC from intruders - you'll find it in Control Panel/Security.

Windows firewall is very basic so you should think of installing one from the net. One I've used in the past is Zonealarm. There is a free version for home use and a paid for version with more features.
