IN MEMORY OF
Brian Copeland Allan
30th September 1957 to 17th June 2009
I dedicate this page to my brother Brian who died in June from an aggressive form of cancer. He became ill in February when he became unable to eat and swallow, later being diagnosed with a tumour in his stomach which spread to his liver etc.
Brian was a great guy, loved by many. He would do anything to help anyone who asked, asking nothing in return.
In fact, he became my full time carer in 1993, when my dad (who died 21st November 2008) became to frail to look after me. Brian and I have always been together since we left school and he was always there to help me when ever I needed him. We went everywhere together, holidays, concerts etc. We’ve seen The Pretenders, David Bowie, Kylie, Big Country, Wishbone Ash, The Mission and The Skids to name a few.
Brian made my life and for that I will be forever grateful to him. He was more than a brother, he was my best friend. I miss him so much!
Thanks Brian. I know you’re up there jamming with Marc Bolan, Jimi Hendrix and George Harrison now.
LOVE YOU BRO
ALWAYS
Garry
RESPECTS:
Hello Garry,
I'm so sorry to hear of your sad news. I do remember you and Brian, of
course. Life deals us some rough blows sometimes doesn't it?
Please try to say 'hi' after the Lochgelly show. Our fan community
means a lot to myself and the band and a smile, in Brian's case, a big
one, gies a long way to help us remember a gig and to keep going and
to reinforce why we do what we do. It's the music and the fans.
To lose your dad as well recently is doubly tough so you are
undoubtedly having to pull on a lit of inner strength right now.
Family becomes real important as we get older. You sound strong
though. I know it'll be rough but you'll figure it out in some way.
Thank God we have system with carers etc.
If you need to drop me an email from time to time, feel free.
All the very best to you and we look forward to seeing you in October.
Andy and the Wishbones.
